I need a new carburetor

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, carburetors have been in very short supply throughout the US and on engines beyond the Briggs & Stratton engines. We have been in constant communication with Briggs and their primary distributor to understand the timeline for availability. Here are the important points to note.

The Briggs & Stratton network does not expect that this shortage will be corrected in total until after the New Year. We are working to get some in but are working through the same issues everyone is encountering.

If you are certain that you need a new carburetor, please use the Briggs & Stratton Dealer locator to find the dealer that is closest to you as they will have quickest access to the carburetors as they become available and may have them before we do. If possible, please select a “Diamond Dealer” or if you feel comfortable doing the replacement yourself, we have included the direct link to the Briggs & Stratton Store below.

You are welcome to try Amazon and Jacks Small Engines to see if they have inventory but again, our experience is that the Briggs & Stratton dealers should have the best access as they become available.

If you are uncertain as to whether you need a new carburetor but suspect that the carb is the issue, we’d recommend that you use the following documents to troubleshoot the problem as in many cases, this has gotten our customers back up and running.
